Day 1

Yangon City Tour

Meals:

In the morning, you will be picked up at your hotel by the tour guide and driver then discover the city starting with Kyaukhtatgyi Pagoda.

Next, go downtown and see the architecture of the colonial constructions in the historic old capital. The history of design and their function will be presented by the tour guide. If you desire to try any specific teas at the local tea place, you are welcome to request.

The splendid Shwedagon Pagoda is the next stop. It is a golden pagoda located on the top of Singuttara hill surrounded by shining scenery. People believe that the pagoda kept the Buddha’s hair relics dated back 2500 years ago. Nowadays, the pagoda is one of the most breathtaking religious architecture in the world and brings pride to Myanmar.

Then, return to your hotel in Yangon in the late afternoon.

Day 2

Yangon – Kyaikhtiyo – Golden Rock

Meals:

In the morning, the tour guide will pick you up at your hotel to the Golden Rock at 8:30 am. It takes 5 hours to drive from Yangon to Kyaiktiyo through the Burmese countryside with green rice fields.

The most interesting day is to discover the Golden Rock Pagoda or Golden Rock in Kyaiktiyo Pagoda. Entering the base camp of Kin Pun, we catch the truck to the Golden Rock which is a familiar picture in a Myanmar travel guide. Now take a short trek to the viewpoint and admire the fascinating sunset.

Note: From Kinpun camp to the top, the trucks might be jam-packed and a little annoying. The locals often tag along and the truck will leave if it is full of people, you should be patient. Please be sure to arrive in Kinpun before 5:30 pm to surely get a truck traveling to the top.

Located in a precarious place, the Golden Rock with gold leaves around is an essential part of Buddhist pilgrimage and significant image of Myanmar culture and religion. Ask your tour guide to deepen your understanding about the origin of this place. You can experience the traditional activities of the pilgrimage season there if lucky. Discover the pagoda and return to your guesthouse overnight and complete your first day of the trip from Yangon to Golden Rock.

Day 3

Kyaikhtiyo – Bago – Yangon

Meals:

In the morning, we will visit the former Mon Kingdom established in the 15th century after going to Bago through the rice farmland and little villages.

In Bago, let’s discover the attractions such as Buddha’s teachings with the monks of Kyakhatwaing first. Afterwards, we will explore the highest pagoda of Myanmar, Shwemawdaw Pagoda.

Then, don’t forget to visit the historic palace scene of Kanbawzathadi Palace before exploring Shwethalyaung Sleeping Buddha.

The next destination is the home to the Four Seated Buddha shrine facing different directions, located in Kyaikpun Pagoda. Learn how to make Potteries at the Pottery Workshop. That is such an interesting experience.

When you come back to Yangon, you will have a chance to visit the Taukkyan War Cemetery, which contains the graves of allied soldiers who passed away in the fight in Myanmar in the Second World War from the British Commonwealth.

Finish the trip with the travel back to your hotel in Yangon.

Enjoy the Yangon Countryside Tour!
