Full Itinerary

Day 1

KALEWA

Transfer:

Meals: Lunch, Dinner

PLEASE NOTE: The itinerary for this expedition is subject to change. We ask you to be flexible once you book this cruise as the areas you travel to are very remote.
In the morning, we will pick you up from your hotel to the airport if needed for your flight to Homalin. Upon arrival, you will be taken to the jetty to start your journey. 

Day 2

MAWLAIK

Transfer:

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

The morning will be dedicated to a visit to Mawlaik – the former headquarter of the Bombay Burmah Trading company and old retreat for the British. The town has a green golf course surrounded by “Dak Bungalows” from a forgotten time.

Day 3

MAWLAIK ELEPHANT CAMP

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Morning excursion by Tuk Tuk or coach to Bus to view the Teak wood Forest outside Mawlaik. Continue to the Pyar Swe Elephant Camp, a working camp where the elephants are protected in natural surroundings. We then sail to Kalewa where we overnight.
Begin a day with a tuk tuk or coach ride into the lush teak forest on the outskirt of Mawlaik. We will reach Pyar Swe Elephan Camp to learn about the people’s effort here to protect and safekeeping the elephant in the region. 

Day 4

MINGKIN

Morning cruise up river. After lunch, we explore Mingkin, rediscovered by Paul Strachan in 1987 and described in some detail in his book Mandalay: Travels from the Golden City. It remains for Paul the most art historically interesting site in Myanmar (more so than the now spoilt Pagan) with its Konbaung court style teak monasteries sumptuously decorated. Mingkin may be described as the Luang Prabang of the Chindwin.

Day 5

KANEE

Transfer:

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Spend the whole day of leisure on board passing through the slow life by the river or enjoy a cooking demonstration by the head chef. You can leave the ship for a brief walk in the Kanee Village in the afternoon.

Day 6

PHOWIN TAUNG

Transfer:

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

After breakfast today, leave the trip to go on coach for a journey to Po Win Taung Cave Pagoda. Inside the walls of these structures are colorful and lively murals.
The afternoon will be spent with a visit to Kyauk Ka village of which specialty is black lacquer. 

Day 7

MONYWA

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

After breakfast, we begin our first excursion to Thanboddhay Pagoda and next is the two gigantic standing and reclining Buddha Images – Maha Bodhi Tahtaung.
Enjoy the afternoon, walking around the town of Monywa.

Day 8

MONYWA

Meals: Breakfast

Disembark from the cruise and we will transfer you to the airport or your hotel in Mandalay.
