Day 1

Arrive Mandalay (D)

Meals: Dinner

Activities: Mandalay arrival, you are welcomed, check in hotel, visit Mandalay Palace walls, depart to Mandalay Hill or visit Kuthodaw Pagoda.

Arriving Mandalay, welcome on arrival and transfer to hotel for check-in. The room is at your disposal from 14.00 onwards.

Coming to Mandalay, which was the imperial city of the last dynasty in Burma, you will have a chance to visit the Mandalay Palace walls; its architecture has a harmonious, balanced and sober beauty. It was rebuilt due to the damage of the Second World War and is surrounded by a moat. Its imposing buildings do not produce the usual coldness and impression of overwhelming power for the common people.

If time permits, we will depart to Mandalay Hill or pay a visit to Kuthodaw pagoda in order to contemplate the World's Largest Book.

Day 2

Mandalay - Heho - Green Hill Elephant Camp - Kalaw (B, L)

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Activities: Fly to Heho depart to Green Hill Elephant Camp, walking through the Green Hill Valley.

The morning comes with the flight to Heho and then transfer to Green Hill Elephant Camp by walking through the Green Hill Valley. The camp is the home of Elephants after the logging industry made them not have residence. The family at Green Hill has adopted and cared for them at the refuge. Children are encouraged to feed, bathe, and help the caretakers. Enjoy a nice lunch at Green Hill Elephant Camp and then plant a tree to support the reforestation of the Green Hill Valley.

In the afternoon, we will arrive in Kalaw to check in at the hotel and relax in our free time. Dinner on your own. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 3

Kalaw Trekking - Nyaung Shwe - Inle Lake (B)

Meals: Breakfast

Activities: Visit the market in Kalaw, Myin Ma Tee Cave, and transfer to Nyaung Shwe; visit Shwe Yan Pyay Monastery, Nyaung Shwe, and boat to Inle Lake.

Enjoy a nice breakfast and then we will pay a visit to the morning market in Kalaw. At the market, you will see the busy commercial activities of locals with colorful and diverse goods.

After that, spend 3 or 4 hours trekking to Myin Ma Tee Cave. Surely you will be attracted by the impressive stalactites and stalagmites, as well as Buddha images and statues, dating back to the 17th century.

Continue the trip to Nyaung Shwe, the gateway to Inle Lake, by car. On the way, we will pay a visit to Shwe Yan Pyay Monastery, which is built of wood and have fantastic sculptures as well as Buddha images. Moreover, we will stop at Nyaung Shwe and have a walk in the town as well as visit a local market if it is held on that day. Take a boat to Inle Lake for overnight at the resort.

Day 4

Inle Lake - Fishing and Cooking class (B, L)

Activities: Take a boat to Inle Lake, experience with fisherman, visit Nampan market, join in preparing the dishes with a local family at Thar Lay village, visit Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, Thar Lay village.

Take a boat trip for sightseeing on Inle Lake. In the morning, you will have a chance to know how the boatmen use their techniques for fishing. They row by one leg while the others are standing on the boat to work by hand with their traditional tools. That is the particular trait of the Intha people; and please do not try to imitate them, instead, you can catch fish by rod for lunch. That is certainly an amazing experience on your trip.

Then take a boat to contemplate the rich beauty of floating gardens full of various plants and vegetables. Here you will know about the method to create these gardens and choose tomatoes for your upcoming lunch. After that, we will pay a visit to Nampan market to buy fresh products for your lunch and join us to prepare the meal for a local family at Thar Lay village of Intha people. Following lunch, we will continue the trip to Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda. There are many pagodas around the lake; however, Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda is the most grandiose and monumental one. It is known as the symbol of five small golden Buddha images. You also have a chance to visit Thar Lay village to meet friendly local Intha people.

Discover the daily life of locals to learn more about the traditional handicrafts that are handed down from different generations by visiting the weaving Factory of InPaw Khone, Cheroot Making Factory.

In the afternoon, we will transfer back to the jetty at Nyaung Shwe and visit the local market if it is held on the day. Dinner on your own. Overnight in Inle Lake.

Day 5

Inle Lake Trekking (B, L)

Activities: Trek to Inle’s surrounding hills, enjoy the packed lunch and visit Mine Thauk village.

Enjoy a nice breakfast and spend 4-5 hours trekking to the hills surrounding Inle Lake. You will have a chance to contemplate the fantastic beauty of landscapes of hills, which are surrounded by farms and villages.

Start your trekking with a tour guide over undulating hills and explore local hill tribe minorities, who inhabited the hills and have authentic insight into their unique culture. When you are trekking around Inle Lake, you will have a chance to see the water below and admire its pure beauty. Enjoy the packed lunch.

Day 6

Inle Lake - Heho - Mt Popa - Bagan (B)

Activities: Fly to Nyaung U airport, drive to Mt Popa, and visit Shwe Hlaing Village.

A new day starts by the fly to Nyaung U airport from Heho airport, then you will be transferred to Mt Popa, an extinct volcano on the slopes of which can be found the sacred Popa Taungkalat monastery perched atop a huge rocky outcrop. The monastery at Taungkalat (meaning ‘Pedestal Hill’) is famous for being home to 37 Nats. A small note mentions that you should hold tight your camera or other personal items tightly due to mischievous local monkeys.

Shwe Hlaing Village is a must-see on the way to Bagan. This traditional craft village is famous for unique products from the toddy palm trees.

Day 7

Bagan - Biking the temples (B)

Activities: Cycling around the Bagan plains, visit villages, Nyaung Oo Market, Shwezigon Pagoda, Ananda Temple, traditional lacquer ware workshop, depart to Shwesandaw Pagoda to enjoy the sunset views over the plains.

Enjoy the new day by cycling around the Bagan plains, and visiting some villages, markets, and temples on the way.

We first visit Nyaung Oo Market, a typical market that has remained in Myanmar for centuries. Here you will be attracted by diverse vegetables and fruits as well as the unique images of locals with baskets on their heads. Then we will pay a visit to Shwezigon Pagoda, the holiest pagoda in Bagan, known as a center of prayers and commenced by King Anawrahta during the 11th century. Here you will see the golden stupa and listen to the introduction of Bagan’s rich history.

Continue the trip to Annada Temple, a well-preserved masterpiece known as the “Westminster Abbey of Burma”. The temple is one of the finest and most venerated religious sites in Bagan.

In the afternoon, continue the trip to visit a local lacquer ware workshop and have an insightful understanding of the lacquer painting technique. Have a short tea break before we will continue departure to Shwesandaw Pagoda to watch the sunset over the lush plains.

Day 8

Bagan – Flight to Thandwe - Ngapali (B)

After having breakfast, transfer to Nyaung U Airport, you are picked up at Thandwe Airport and transferred to Ngapali Beach. It is the most beautiful beach in Myanmar with white sands, a stretching beach, and coconut palms. It is really a wonderful place for water sports.

Start a wonderful day by the flight to Yangon from Thandwe airport. You will be picked up by a Tour Guide and Car Driver at Yangon International Airport and then transferred to the hotel for check-in. The room is at your disposal from 14.00 onwards.

We first visit Kyaukhtatgyi Pagoda, which is famous for the Reclining Buddha image. Particularly, Shwedagon Pagoda is the place that you shouldn’t miss on your trip. You will immerse in the shimmering landscape of Shwedagon pagoda which is a magnificent golden pagoda on the top of Singuttara Hill.
