Full Itinerary

Day 1

Yangon arrival (D)

Meals: Dinner

Activities: Yangon arrival, visit Shwedagon Pagoda, watch the sunset, and enjoy dinner with traditional Burmese food.

Arriving in Yangon city, welcome on arrival and transfer to hotel for check-in. The room is at your disposal from 14.00 onwards.

In the late afternoon, we will pay a visit to Shwedagon Pagoda. You will immerse in the shimmering landscape of Shwedagon pagoda which is a magnificent golden pagoda on the top of Singuttara Hill. It is said that this pagoda is dated back to 2500 years ago, storing the hair relics of the Buddha. Now, it becomes one of the most spectacular religious architecture in the world as well as the pride of Myanmar. Additionally, you will have a chance to contemplate the breathtaking sunset beauty of the Shwedagon Pagoda.

In the evening, enjoy a welcome dinner with traditional Burmese food in a local restaurant.

Transfer back to the hotel overnight.

Day 2

Yangon – Kyaikhtiyo – Golden Rock (B)

Meals: Breakfast

Activities: Depart to the ancient capital of Bago, take a local truck to the mountain of the Golden Rock, and watch the sunset from Mount Kyaikhtiyo.

Start a new day by transferring to the ancient capital of Bago after a 2-hour drive northeast of Yangon. On the way, you have a chance to contemplate the lush paddy fields to get to the small town of Kyaikhtiyo and the base camp of Kinpun. In the afternoon, we will transfer to the mountain by a local truck/bus. If you would like to transport by private trucks, you can ask your guide to arrange with extra costs.

Then we will spend about 1-hour climbing to the “Golden Rock”, which is the miracle Buddhist wonder of Myanmar. (If you don’t have enough health or are unwilling to trek, you can hire four porters to carry you in a sedan chair). It is the third most well-known Buddhist pilgrimage site in Mon State, Myanmar. The glided pagoda with 7.3 meters high is built on the top of a granite boulder covered with gold leaf pasted by devotees. At the end of the day, you will watch the beautiful sunset from Mount Kyaikhtiyo, if the weather permits.

Day 3

Kyaikhtiyo – Bago – Yangon (B)

Meals: Breakfast

Activities: Watch the sunrise from to top of Golden Rock, drive back to Bago and visit Shwemawdaw Pagoda, and visit Kyaikpun Pagoda and British War Cemetery.

The morning comes with the journey to the Golden Rock to watch the sunrise. Enjoy a nice breakfast and then walk down the mountain and transfer back to your car, or you can walk all the way down to the base camp at Kinpun.

We will continue the trip to Bago by car in order to visit Shwemawdaw Pagoda, the tallest stupa in Myanmar. Together with the Shwedagon and Kyaiktiyo, it is also one of the most sacred pagodas in Myanmar. Here you will be impressed by the majestic beauty of the temple and you also can contemplate the Shwethalyaung Buddha, the most beautiful Reclining Buddha.

In the afternoon, we will pay a visit to Kyaikpun Pagoda to see the four Buddha images named  Kakusandha, Konagamana, Kassapa, and Gautama, seated back in different directions.

Additionally, you can take an optional visit to British War Cemetery near Htauk Kyan on the return back to Yangon.

Day 4

Yangon - Bagan by flight (B)

Meals: Breakfast

Activities: Fly to Bagan; visit Nyang U Market, gold leaf Shwezigon Pagoda, Ananda Temple, sightseeing in Bagan plains, and visit a local lacquerware workshop.

Having a nice breakfast, then we will depart early from the hotel to take a flight to Bagan. Bagan is known as a mysterious land of over ancient 2000 temples where no visitor can ignore to discover the Burmese’s history and the development of Buddhism. We will first visit Nyang U Market, a typical market that has remained in Myanmar for centuries. Here you will be attracted by diverse vegetables and fruits as well as the unique images of locals with baskets on their heads.

We then visit Shwezigon pagoda, the older golden pagoda in Bagan located in Nyang U town, as well as explore Ananda Temple as further travel into the Bagan plains and the surrounding temples.

In the afternoon, continue the trip to visit a local lacquer ware workshop and have an insightful understanding of the lacquer painting technique.

Day 5

Bagan – Mt Popa – Bagan (B)

Activities: Drive to Mt Popa, visit Shwe Hlaing Village, and watch the sunset, back to Bagan.

One of the many highlights when visiting Myanmar is exploring Mt Popa, an extinct volcano on the slopes of which can be found the sacred Popa Taungkalat monastery perched atop a huge rocky outcrop. The monastery at Taungkalat (meaning ‘Pedestal Hill’) is famous for being home to 37 Nats.

Then we take a car back to Bagan. Shwe Hlaing Village is a must-see on the way to Bagan. This traditional craft village is famous for unique products from the toddy palm trees.

The highlight of the day is the breathtaking sunset beauty from the Shwesandaw Pagoda.

Day 6

Bagan – Mandalay - Sagaing – Amarapura (B)

Activities: Fly to Mandalay, arrive in Sagaing Hill to learn about a monk’s schooling, visit Budda Cave, U Min Thonze Pagoda, and Soon Oo Ponya Shin Pagoda, drive to Amarapura to visit Monastery and walk over U Bein Wooden Bridge.

A short flight from Bagan will take you to Mandalay, the 2nd largest city in Myanmar, and then depart to Sagaing Hill to understand about monk’s schooling, discover Budda Cave, U Min Thonze Pagoda, and Soon Oo Ponya Shin Pagoda as well as contemplate the impressive landscapes of Mandalay.

Continue the trip to Amarapura, the “city of immortality” by car to visit Mahagandaryone Monastery. It is one of Amarapura’s main sights with more than 3000 monks living and studying here. Enjoy a walk over U Bein Wooden Bridge - a beautiful 1.2 kilometers structure built from teak planks and said to be the longest of its type in the world.

Day 7

Mandalay – Mingun – Mandalay Hill (B)

Activities: Visit the monks and enjoy their daily meal, explore Mingun by boat, visit Mandalay Palace, Shwenandaw Monastery, and Kuthodaw Pagoda and contemplate the sunset.

Spend a full day exploring Mandalay with numerous stupas, monks, and monasteries. Watch the monks during worship time and enjoy a nice meal of vegetarian dishes in the monasteries which is a fascinating part of the tour.

Continue the trip by driving to Mandalay Pier; we will take a boat to Mingun, which is famous for its massive unfinished Pahtodawgyi pagoda, built at the end of the 18th century, and Mingun bell, the largest bell in the world.

Explore Mandalay Royal Palace which is covered by beautiful canals and visit Shwenandaw Monastery, which is famous for Buddhist carvings. Continue the visit to Kuthodaw pagoda you will have a chance to contemplate the World's Largest Book, which included 729 Marble Stone Slabs of Buddhist Scriptures and each stone slab held on the small shrine. Mandalay – Flight to Heho – Pindaya – Inle (B)

Day 9

Inle Lake sightseeing (B)

Activities: Take a boat to visit Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, Nga Phe Chaung Monastery, Nam Pan village, and traditional crafts.

Enjoy a nice breakfast to start a wonderful day and take a boat to cruise on the Inle Lake.
