Meals: Lunch

You will be picked up from the hotel in Kalaw and taken straight to Green Hill Valley Elephant Camp - where the elephants have been cared for many years. After you arrive at the elephant camp, there will be staff to welcome you and get you through some general information about the camp and also safety guides in order to prepare for your visit.

You will take a 5 to 7-minute walk to the elephant village and experience the usual lives of mahout’s families. You will be introduced to the elephants and allowed to feed them with the food prepared daily by the camp before getting to see elephants bathing in the river. You may also join in washing them if you wish to.

Please be aware that riding is not the main highlight. You will be able to interact with the elephants like Mahouts while washing them.

You may also join hands in a forest recovery project launched by the camp by making an effort to plant one regional tree. (Owing to the season, planting trees cannot be operated the entire year. However, you are welcome to aid in the seedling process for the forest restoration program).

There will be a lunch break at the main camp.

After that, you will take a look at the paper recycling project from elephants’ poop as well as acquiring further knowledge about elephants with Skeleton.

The camp staff will provide you with more information about the elephants and forest. You then will have the chance to explore the forest area and view butterflies, birds and orchids in the conservation area. If you want to, you can take time to enjoy yourself and explore nature within the permitted time.

Finally, you will be driven back to the hotel in Kalaw. (There will be extra cost if you begin/end the tour in Inle).
