Full Itinerary

Day 1

Yangon – Golden Rock (110 miles)

Meals: N/A

Activities: Visit Golden Rock by truck

After breakfast, start our tour with a visit to Golden Rock, the miracle Buddhist wonder of Myanmar.  It takes 4 hours by car from Yangon to the town of Kinpun, then heads to Kyaiktiyo pagoda (Golden Rock) by truck. It is the third most well-known Buddhist pilgrimage site in Mon State, Myanmar. The glided pagoda with 7.3 meters high built on the top of a granite boulder covered with gold leaf pasted by devotees.  On special days such as Full moon day and New Year, thousands of pilgrims, monks, and nuts from the country come, pray, and devour the Buddha.

Day 2

Golden Rock – Hpa An (B)

Meals: Breakfast

Activities: Drive to Hpa An, transfer to Zaydan Road, take a rest in the local teahouse, visit Sadan (Seddon) Cave, Yethaepyan, and Kawtgon Caves, back to the Lumbini Garden for fresh and wonder.

On this day, discover how amazing and beautiful Hpa An is with a 4- hour car excursion. Hpa An is a peaceful town situated on the eastern bank of the Than Lwin river. Here, visitors will have a chance to explore surrounding caves and natural limestone mountains.

On the way, we get to Zaydan Road, the center of the town where you can find beer stations, restaurants serving local and Asian foods, or local teahouses for relaxing before starting the tour to Sadan Cave, an open giant cave with Buddha statues and pagodas inside.

It is truly impressive that you can walk through to the other side of the mountain and back on the wooden boat when exploring the cave. Continue Hpa An exploration by observing other caves in the southwest like Yethaepyan and Kawtgon Caves; all the caves on the beauty of the Buddha architecture and religious history.

Finish the day by enjoying the beauty of Lumbini Garden and back to the hotel overnight.

Day 3

Hpa An – climbing to Mount Zewgabin (B)

Activities: Visit Kyaukka Latt Paya, Mt. Zewgabin, watch the sunset

In the early morning, we depart to the south of Hpa to travel to Kyaukka Latt Paya, this unique Buddhist pagoda is perched on the top of a weird rock formation in the middle of a lake. From Kyaukka Latt Paya pagoda, you can see a great view of surrounding landscapes, Zwekabin Mountain, and over a thousand hand-carved Buddha images at the base of the mountain.

The most fascinating of the day is climbing Mt. Zewgabin; one of the most sacred mountains in the country. Reaching the top, we will take a short rest, visit the monks in the monastery, and sightsee the impressive sunset, then return to the hotel overnight.

Day 4

Hpa An – Mawlamyine (B) (36 miles)

Meals: Breakfast

Activities: Driver to Mawlamyine, visit Uzina Paya, U Khanti Paya, Kyaikthanlan Paya.

Start up a day with a nice breakfast and we drive to Mawlamyine, the capital of Mon state with long-lasting history and charming colonial-style buildings. The beautiful city is a well-known natural tourist destination for millions of visitors every year and is situated in the middle of 4 rivers: Thanlwin, Atrium, Gyaing, and Thaungyin; Mawlamyine which makes it more enchanting by surrounding fishing villages.

Start at Uzina Paya then proceed to the north to U Khanti Paya to see U Khan Ti Image, the hermit who built Mandalay Hill, then continue to Kyaikthanlan Paya, known as the years-old pagoda built by King Mutpi Raja.

Transfer back to the hotel. Meals on your own. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 5

Mawlamyine (B)

Meals: Breakfast

Activities: Visit Zrigyi market, take a boat to Bilu Island (Bilu Kyun), and visit the largest reclining Buddha in Mawlamyine.

By exploring the Zrigyi market and joining in the bustling life of locals, you can get unforgettable memory through saying cheerfully with friendly people and collecting traditional handicraft products. Next, we take a motorized boat and head to Bilu Island on the west of Mawlamyine where almost of villages make handicraft products from coconut, and bamboo. Visitors will have an insightful sense of the daily life of artisans and local culture.

In the afternoon, we back to Mawlamyine and contemplate Win Sein Taw Ya, the largest reclining Buddha in the world and located opposite the Buddhist shrine of Kyauktalon Taung - Mudon - Mon State, Myanmar (Burma).

Then transfer back to the hotel overnight. Meals on your own.

Day 6

Mawlamyine – Bago – Yangon (B, L) (177 miles)

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Activities: Have lunch and enjoy Bago Archeological Zone (if have enough time) on the way back to Yangon.

After breakfast, we will transfer back to Yangon and have lunch at the place near Bago. If time permits, we will visit Bago Archeological Zone.

Arrive in Yangon in the late afternoon.
