Start early in the morning for a great bike tour through the east side of Mandalay. The guide will pick up people at their hotels with the bikes, and once the bikes and helmets are set up, it's time to start exploring. This Mandalay Travel would cover 20–30 kilometers, depending on where you start and if you choose to go uphill. Most of the roads are flat and paved.
The first 4–6 kilometers take people out of the city center and onto a quiet road surrounded by green fields and little villages. The first destination will be a morning market where local fruits, snacks, vegetables, and other goods are bought. Walking through the market, snapping photographs, and engaging with the hospitable vendors will undoubtedly be enjoyable activities there.
Continue cycling to the east until you reach the down of Yankin Hill, a prominent local pilgrimage site. On both sides of this beautiful road are many monasteries, temples, and schools. Aside from schoolchildren and monks strolling or bicycling alongside visitors, there may be no traffic.
The next stop is Yeh Dagon Hill, where many Burmese people go to meditate. For people who want to ride their bikes on hilly terrain, a short 6 km loop will take them up the hill, where they can see great views. After that, people take another boat back to town and ride through large fields of sugarcane, sunflowers, and rice. Before riding back to the city, you can also stop at a small trading village known for its traditional paper fans. You come back to your hotel in Mandalay and finish the trip.
