"The thing that makes this hotel amazing is the staff. We have never encountered such genuine warmness from so many in one hotel! Unfortunately, we will forget some here, but a special recognition goes to Ruby, Sarah, and Wei Yen at the front desk. Thanks for arranging drivers (Pauk is highly recommended!), getting info for us, and being lovely to chat with! It was a delight every morning to be welcomed to the restaurant by Zin Mi Ko's cheerful smile and kind words. (She greeted me by name every day!) Zaw and Say Maung Maung (all the servers, really!) in the restaurant just could not do enough for you. They were always there with a smile and more coffee or anything else you could want. Last but certainly not least, our very favorite executive lounge staff ever (and we've enjoyed many around the world): Thin Thin. She knew what we wanted/needed before we did! Her quick smile and kind attentiveness truly made this a memorable stay. We truly missed her when we moved on to Hilton's Naypyitaw property. Thin Thin is exceptional. The lobby, restaurant, executive lounge, and pool have been beautifully redecorated. Stunning! We loved spending time in a shaded cabana by the gorgeous pool and were often the only ones there. With a push of button, one of the wonderful staff will come out to take your order for yummy cocktails or delicious food. The executive lounge was unlike any we've been in before; there's a set menu, and it's served Afternoon Tea style (see pic). The lounge does not open until 10am because breakfast is served in the restaurant. Breakfast is extensive and delicious! The dated rooms are waiting for a reno with some rooms already being worked on. If the lobby is any indication of the aesthetic being used, the rooms are going to be absolutely gorgeous! We're actually already planning a trip back to see for ourselves! We hope the staff stays the same! We miss you all! Tips for before you go: Contact the hotel in advance to be picked up at the airport for $25 USD. (It's about an hour away.) Download Grab for quick and easy transport about town."

"The renovation is lovely, it's clean, modern but has hints of local crafts and the country's past heritage. However it's the staff that made the difference for us, a warm welcome and smiles everywhere. We were in a Executive room on a floor that wasn't renovated yet, but it was fine. The pool was lovely, not many people using it and sadly in the two hours we were there no one came out to offer drinks etc despite there being a menu on the small tables between the loungers. Also the spa wasn't available whilst we were there. The breakfast was the best we had on our trip around Myanmar, such a selection and really good quality. A sign at the doors to the restaurant made me a little sad (sad because of the way some tourists behave towards the guest nation), apparently some of the guests feel it's ok to go to breakfast in pyjamas etc and feel it's their right to take away food from the restaurant for later consumption. I'm glad to see the hotel were trying to find a polite way of ensuring the dining experience is comfortable and fair to all. There was a small coffee shop, items looked tempting but we had lounge access so didn't use it. Whilst we were there the lounge was in a glass room by the pool which was lovely. Soft drinks and coffee during the day (a few biscuits and nuts were also available) and for cocktail hour they added alcoholic drinks and a tray/stand if tempting hors d'oeuvres. Not many people used the lounge outside of cocktail hour so it was shut earlier than we were told on one of the days so we were granted a free coffee in the lobby area. There's also an ATM by the gift shop. We had two meals at the hotel and the food was lovely. Would recommend; a good base, very comfortable and lovely staff."

"I have visited this hotel five times over the last seven years: twice when it was still a Sedona Hotel, and three times since it became part of the Hilton chain. The changes for the better have been enormous. I don't have the time now to describe the in detail, but I fully agree with the various five star reviews below. But the real asset of this hotel is the staff: extremely friendly and yet professional. Just to mention some of the front desk staff whose name I remember: Ruby, Ay Ay and Nao Nao: thanks for making our business trip to Mandalay a really memorable one (and apologies to all other front desk and restaurant staff whose names have escaped me!)"

"I do like the rooms, they are large and comfortable especially far from the renovation work in progress. The staff is super helpful. The food is good at Café Mandalay and the pastries are to die for at Delicious with a discount after 6:00pm, this is a Must while at the Hilton."

"Hotel has excellent location, right across the Royal Palace. Room was large and well furnished. Reception staff and Concierge was very cooperative, specially Nao Nao, and extended help in finding a taxi with English-speaking driver and a restaurant serving authentic local food."

"Stayed here for 4 nights, our first stop during a magical Myanmar adventure. Set on a great bit of real estate near the palace and a direct view of Mandalay Hill from the entrance and some rooms. Service was outstanding throughout from the front desk manager Sarah, to the breakfast and Moat Bar & Grill staff. Special mention to Thein Zan Win in the Moat who kept us refreshed in the evenings with ice cold Mandalay beers and gave me a fine recommendation of the tuna steak dish which was just delectable. All the food and drinks are a really fair price, even though you are staying in an international brand hotel. The pool is big and a relaxing & refreshing escape from the bustle of Mandalay. Would definitely stay at the Hilton again if I was in Mandalay. And can thoroughly recommend a stay here."

"This was my second stay at Hilton Mandalay. I have stayed a total of 20-days during my 2 visits in 2019. Service, employees, and food were excellent. I plan to visit again in 2020. See you everyone and thank you so very much for your hospitality. Ravi Verma."

"I arrived early to check in as I had taken the train to Mandalay and it arrived just before 9am. The staff there were fantastic when I arrived, while my room wasn’t available (which I expected) they checked me in very quickly and then told me I could use the gym changing rooms freshen up, which was fantastic after 16 hours on a train. After a shower and a good coffee they had my room ready. Throughout my stay I found the staff to be both very helpful and friendly. The room I had was very spacious and comfortable and I had a nice view of Mandalay and the pool. The restaurant there was very good (I had dinner there once) and they also had a very nice cafe where I had a good coffee on more than one occasion (and you can also buy Myanmar coffee beans). The service wifi was ok, it did drop off from time to time but this might be due to the number of users. The hotel is in a good location and there are some good restaurants nearby, and a tuk tuk to downtown area was quite reasonable 3,000 MMK. They also have a reasonable selection of equipment to choose from in the fitness centre, which is open 24hours. When I visited the Spa was under renovation and also from time to time the power would cut out, but that might be more of a local area issue. Overall a very enjoyable experience and I would definitely stay here again."

"Situated in a great location overlooking the palace wall. I really enjoyed my stay here. Our room was extremely comfortable with a great bed and good quality pillows and linen. The bathroom was a nit outdated and in need of modernising but nothing that you couldn’t live with. Breakfast was fantastic with a great choice and something for everyone. The pool area was lovely and well maintained. The most Bar was excellent with ice cold beer and wine. The staff were extremely helpful and professional."
