"We had a short but great stay in this hotel just recently. Their manager together with her staff were so accomodating that they even granted our room upgrade to hillside view. The food was quite good and we had a memorable experience with their asian buffet/cultural show."

"Fantastic 4 nights in this tropical gem, great food, fantastic pool altho cold but it is their winter, great service. Had a corner deluxe room , roomy and light. Decorations of hotel are culturally centred and buffet breakfast best ever.... stay here location next to all major tourist sights. Can't fault anything, clean, comfortable and v stylish in a Burmese kind of way. Wonderful stay. Highly recommended."

"We stayed for just one day but thanks to their amazing hospitality, time just expanded and one day stay looked surreal as if we stayed longer since we enjoyed every moment spent here. The Duty manager Yi Yi Win was exceptionally efficient and courteous. She showed us to the room and helped us in the hassle free check in. We have travelled extensively and can say with confidence that their Spa can be rated as best in the world. The ambience, service and experience are all par excellence. We dined at their Chinese restaurant but were not too happy as food could have been better. They need a serious upgrade. However, the breakfast lay is mindblowing and you can have a wonderful start to your day with a sumptuous breakfast. I strongly recommend this hotel for your Mandalay stay."

"We had a great room overlooking the pool to the rear of the hotel.From our balcony,on the 8th floor we had an uninterrupted view of the valley,and the large pagoda on the hill. I also could see the gym below where I exercised each morning before breakfast in the main dining area.There was an enormous choice of fare available at all mealtimes,and lovely service.The wine list was great."

"We stayed 4 nights in a very comfortable "de luxe twin room" (nr. 603) overlooking the hill and the pool area. The staff was friendly and very efficient (check-in, check-out, concierge, security, etc., as well as their pre-arranged airport pick-up). Excellent beds, very good bathroom (including a tub). The included breakfast buffet was outstanding, also catering for asian-style breakfasts. We tried 2 of the inhouse restaurants for dinner, which were okay, but nothing special. Lunch-snacks and drinks can be served around the pool. The location is perfect for visiting the pagoda's at the hill (which climb we did at sun-rise early morning before breakfast), as well as for most of the city's other tourist attractions. There is an ATM inside the lobby, very handy. It seemed a quiet period mid January. There were always sufficient tuk-tuk cabs outside for visiting the other parts of town, or for visiting the greater Mandelay area. We would stay here again!"

"My friend and I spent four nights here and enjoyed the hotel very much. The hotel lobby is full of charm! The rooms are nicely apportioned, very clean and comfortable. We used room service for dinner on two occasions and the service was fast and the food affordable. There were no excessive charges for ordering room service. The breakfast buffet was very nice with lots of options offered. The spa was the most beautiful spa I have ever visited! My friend and I treated ourselves to a four hour package ! Without reservation, I would highly recommend this property!"

"My husband and I stayed in Mercure Hill resort Mandalay for 2 nights, 11-13 of February, the beginning of our tour in Myanmar. Perfect location, immaculately kept gardens and swimming pool and impeccable service! The room was very nice but in need of some TLC. Great start of our trip! Thank you!"

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Room was large and well appointed with good sized bathroom, and lovely flowers and fruit to welcome us, plus a free mini bar. Very comfortable large bed and efficient A/C. Access to an exec lounge with free all day refreshments was a real bonus - the hostess there was very charming and most attentive when we visited both evenings for happy hour. Room had great views up Mandalay Hill and across city, but was a bit noisy at night (street dogs howling woke us up!) even though on 7th floor. Breakfast was a busy buffet, with good selection of foods to suit every taste and excellent eggs. Only two lifts, so had to wait awhile sometimes - it was a real shame we couldn’t find a staircase to use even if we were only going from the 7th to 8th floor! The Kiplings bar had a relaxing ambiance, with good live music on both evenings, and we enjoyed the bar tapas menu. Beautiful and well priced spa, but sadly no time to fit in a treatment during our short stay. Bigger than hotels we usually choose, but we found the Mercure efficient and very comfortable on this occasion."
