"Just had 3 nights here and wished we could have stayed longer. Location is best by far in old Bagan - magical sunsets over the river, spacious grounds - fabulous pool and amazing staff!!! I wish I had taken advantage of the additional offerings such as on site language, cooking, and even meditation classes. The servers in the dining hall were attentive, and accommodated our dietary restrictions, always kept our coffee cups filled, and let us practice our Burmese. The air conditioning quality was super efficient, and quiet enough to let us sleep. Super comfy bed. The layout of the cabanas was close enough to be convenient, but far enough away to maintain enough privacy. The property grounds were impeccable maintained. I found the gift shop on the pricier side, but very stylishly edited/ curated merchandise. I highly recommend this resort."

"Hotel is set with small individual duplex buildings with suites, set in a garden setting. Amenities are plentiful. Just relaxed and enjoyed. Swimming, spa, restaurant all great and priced reasonable. Rent electric scooters or bikes to see the numerous temples around the area. There is actual temple complex on the grounds. 2 ATMS in hotel grounds and concierge can accommodate any needs. Really a great stay."

"I stayed four nights at this peaceful, secluded resort facility while in Bagan. I didn't fully appreciate it's uniqueness until I explored Bagan over the course of my visit and found most of the other hotels of similar quality were in noisy, populated areas. It's situated right on the banks of the Irrawaddy River down a lane that creates an oasis of isolation and reflection after a day of exploring the temple-scape of Bagan. They have bicycles and e-bikes for rent, so the isolation remains an asset without being inconvenient. The rooms are set up as bungalows divided into quad-accomodations with some rooms facing the extensive and well kept gardens and others facing the river. The rooms themselves are a bit dated, but still quite comfortable. The pool was very nice and situated with wonderful views of the river. Breakfast was also fine, but with limited selections for vegetarians. The staff were very helpful arranging whatever transport that I required and were pleasant and friendly. The key asset was location, location, location. A very nice place to consider staying in while in Bagan."

"Thiripyitsaya Sanctuary Resort - Bagan If ever a resort had the correct name , this is it. A Sanctuary. A place of peace, restfulness and tranquility. Right from the very beginning of your stay at Thiripyitsaya you will immediately relax into the mystical magical timeless peace that is, Bagan. The rooms are tastefully decorated and very well kitted out with all you will need for a peaceful enjoyable stay in Bagan. It’s location is just perfect - halfway between old Bagan and New Bagan. The surrounding area is like stepping back in time as you visit the hundreds of temples, pagodas and stupas of Ancient Bagan. The stunning hotel gardens and beautiful relaxing pool have amazing views over the sleepy Irrawaddy river and the sunset here is breathtaking. The staff at Thiripyitsaya Sanctuary Resort are amazing. Each and every employee will treat you like you are the only person in the world. They are all so lovely. In particular though we have to thank Pa Pa. She is just the most gracious, professional and attentive person we have ever met. I don’t know if she is a manager at the hotel but if she isn’t - she should be!! Pa Pa made our stay at Thiripyitsaya just perfect. She arranged E-bikes to be ready at 7am in the mornings, gave us tips and advice for the best sight seeing around, organised our follow on journey from Bagan to Mandalay by River boat cruise (Simply Amazing!!!!) and she was always there to ask how we were and make sure we were having just the most wonderful stay in Bagan. This was our second time returning to Thiripyitsaya Sanctuary - Pa Pa remembered us from the previous year, remembered we liked the E-bikes to freely travel around beautiful Bagan and remembered we liked a beautiful garden villa with a porch overlooking the beautiful gardens and Irrawaddy river. She even remembered that we came from Ireland. It’s amazing how that someone working in a hotel with a beautiful personality and a gracious spirit can just make your holiday in that location something that will be a memory for a lifetime - Pa Pa is that person. We will definitely return to Bagan again and we will definitely stay again at Thiripyitsaya Sanctuary Resort. 🙏❤️🙏"
