"What a super find in Hanoi close to all sights. Room very clean and serviceable. My husband and I stayed for 4 nights then came back for one more night after taking halong bay cruise. What we could not understand is why the restaurant was not used very much we had all our evening meals at the hotel and all were excellent. Breakfast is also very good. All staff very attentive nothing too much trouble. On our return from our cruise for our last night we were upgraded to the best room in hotel not expected at all."

"Room: The room had no windows (which we knew about) but was well furnished with all the essential, including free water, refilled every day. The walls are thin, so do bring earplugs along because you hear whatever is going on in the corridor. Staff: The hotel staff was lovely and keen to help, and the airport pick up was smooth with someone waiting for us with our name on a board Location: perfect location, walking distance from most of the sight seeing stuff, and close to loads of great restaurants Food: breakfast buffet was lush! Egg station, pho station, a mix of savoury stuff to suit western and eastern palettes alike which changed every day (the only constant was sausage and bacon), good coffee, good area of fruit, bread and pastries. Even homemade yoghurt. A fantastic spread. Only the juices could be better. We didn't eat dinner, but did go for drinks and they have a Hanoi mocktail, a bit like a strawberry mojito which is gorgeous! Spa: we got a massage at the spa. We didn't necessarily want it together but ended up in the same room. I'd say the massage was average... The two ladies ended up chatting (albeit in low tones) which made it difficult to actually relax. I also didn't feel like I got the massage I chose...at least it didn't start the same. There also didn't seem to be as much care to protect one's modesty, you know when they keep the towel up for you to turnover etc. Overall, great location, fantastic breakfast, lovely staff. Would definitely consider staying here again (with my earplugs again)."

"Fantastically located hotel for this area of Hanoi. Our room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was fine apart from poor quality orange juice (a pet hate of mine). We didn’t eat any other meals here as the hotel is surrounded by an abundance of choice on that front."

"The hotel room was nice and clean. The staff was absolutely helpful and friendly. The breakfast buffet had a lot of different food. Looking forward to my next stay. Because of corona virus, all the staff wear the facial mask and swimming pool was closed for maintenance 1 week."

"This hotel was a dream. Located within walking distance of all the major must see’s in Hanoi. The staff spoke perfect English. We’re very attentive and welcoming. Even recommended places to eat and drink which were the local hidden gems. Restaurant and bar catered for all types and the options for breakfast didn’t disappoint. Would highly recommend."

"This review is on behalf of my old relatives who visited Hanoi last Christmas. I like the location which is in the edge of the old quarter - the heart of Hanoi. So you would find it easy to walk to anywhere you want in the center and not being bothered by the crowded streets. Also, friendly staff and new facilities are another thumbs-up if you are torn between The Light and another more affordable."

"Absolutely loved everything about this place. We were greeted as soon as we walked through the door. Staff was very friendly and very informational and very helpful. We received a room upgrade as well. And the complimentary breakfast the next day was phenomenal. We ended up utilizing their spa services -- equally exceptional. They gave us an intake form for special requests and honored all of those before we got our massages. My husband and I were very pleased. Special thanks to Lucy."

"My husband and I had stayed at The Light for 3 days during our honeymoon and the staff had treated us so well. The room was decorated with Vietnamese wine and rose petals, such lovely. Food was great, both breakfast buffet and a la carte for one dinner. The weather had been nice for all 3 days. We'll definitely be back here for our next trip in Hanoi. "

"This hotel is a little further out from the Old Quarter but it’s well worth staying here. Friendly staff, lovely rooms, a swimming pool, spa and a gym. It is very clean and the breakfast was good with lots of different options. I stayed here with my girlfriend during a 3 week trip round Vietnam."
